MX Perfume mxperfume.etsy.com SUGAR HICCUP (Listed Notes: Rosewood, Sugar, Ginger, Moroccan Rose, Civet (*animal-friendly/synthetic), Amber, Musk, Ambergris (* animal-friendly/synthetic)) Thoughts: I can only describe SUGAR HICCUP as wearable ethereal gossamer, a beautiful reminder of the lost past, posh for the office setting (or a night out) and a unique sugary amber floral I can wear year-round with not one headache or regret. It may sound strange but this is one fragrance that becomes a part of you (only better) and it seriously has to be experienced to get the full mysterious effect. I can't get enough of this rare jewel. Bravo MX Perfume! SCARECROW (Listed Notes: Red Apple, Orange, Anise, Hay Absolute, Tobacco, Fenugreek, Cardamom, Vanilla, Vetiver) Thoughts: SCARECROW by MX Perfume is everything my dark little heart has been desiring in a fall fragrance and I want to live in the bottle. The compliments just keep rolling in when I wear this wonder and SCARECROW is exactly how I'm beating the heat this summer. On me, the realistic hay blended with spice and vanilla are most dominant after the perfect mash of fruit fades and if I could stop slathering this holy grail creation over my arms and in my hair (plus belting out "This is Halloween" from The Nightmare Before Christmas) all long enough I can also detect a wisp of smokiness in this oil that only pulls me deeper into a maze of country fall-related memories; it's just so good! Bravo MX Perfume! mxperfume.etsy.com THE BLACK DEATH FRAGRANCE: Autumn Leaves Time from initial lighting to noticeable throw in a large room with fans: Around 7 minutes Colour of Wax: Black THE BLACK DEATH by Werther & Gray somehow captures the moment when decayed leaves begin to turn dusty and blow in the winds. There is even a drop of patchouli I can detect which adds to the overall effect and I know the perfect candle I'll be burning when I pick up another title on The Great Mortality. Also, the artwork is superb and a must-have decor item for any morbid history collector. SÉANCE FRAGRANCE: Sage, Amber and Smoke Time from initial lighting to noticeable throw in a large room with fans: Around 5-6 minutes Colour of Wax: Midnight Blue Out of the five candles, I was presented with, (in lightning fast time and each artfully packaged) SÉANCE is my favourite out of the jars. I feel I could sit at my desk and pen a full novel with that obscure beauty burning away. The scent that emanates from the candle is truly otherworldly and I can easily imagine a story centred around a mystic, a widow's hopes of reuniting with a lost love from the great war and a circle of dark secrets about to be revealed. I will definitely be repurchasing this powdery creation. LONDON, 1888 FRAGRANCE: Rich lacquered wood, velvety floral notes and seductive fruit Time from initial lighting to noticeable throw in a large room with fans: Around 7-8 minutes Colour of Wax: Maroon For the armchair investigators of unsolved bygone crimes or infamous mysteries, there is no finer selection of candle to cosy up beside than LONDON, 1888 by Werther & Gray. The exact notes of this candle are an alluring mystery all its own (my nose does detect a trace of plum and bergamot) but ultimately this jar tempts you to turn another page or stay to ponder on one more theory long after the lamp chain should be pulled for the night. Exactly what I was hoping for. REIGN OF TERROR FRAGRANCE: Cake, Frosting, Amber, Wood Time from initial lighting to noticeable throw in a large room with fans: Around 4-5 minutes Colour of Wax: Red REIGN OF TERROR along with four other history and seasonally inspired jars from this enchanting shop were all a birthday gift to myself and I finally got my cake with this intriguing candle. Ah but not just any cake, the scent of REIGN OF TERROR is refined and unlike any bakery temptation you will ever find. HALLOWEEN WITCH FRAGRANCE: Pumpkin Bread, Spice Time from initial lighting to noticeable throw in a large room with fans: Around 8-9 minutes Colour of Wax: Golden Brown HALLOWEEN WITCH puts a spell on fall and gourmand fragrance seekers alike with warm delicious nostalgia. This is one comforting jar with not an overwhelming throw but one that beckons just enough for a few more minutes of cozy reading and daydreaming of autumn or cooler weather to come. One whiff and you'll be gone to buy another candle from this amazing shop and I ain't lyin'. Comments are closed.
